Muse- A Poem by Gizelle Riley

MUSE

Talents unsung
Dreams unfulfilled
That is the life of the ordinary I gather

Wishing to have a thousand lifetimes
Just to live a complete one
Is it really God’s choice to allow us only a singular existence?

The world is cruel yet simultaneously sublime
People are flawed
Still their soul emits a light
Such confusion

I am inspiration walking
My own self contained muse
Holding secrets, dreams, and perfection in a flawed reality
My dear Lord, with a lifetime only stretching from the lines in my hand…
Is there enough space for me?
